Why give?

We are reaching out to thousands of youth and children through our Wild Child Nature Immersion Program and Sierra Buddies, our youth mentorship program.

With growing environmental threats, our staff, members and volunteers respond to more and more calls than ever to protect our health, wildlife, and our communities in the face of attacks to our federal environmental laws.

We have held workshops and coordinated responses to fracking in all the Atlantic provinces, and we've helped secure moratoriums on fracking in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador.

We have worked hard to stop the import of fracking waste into Nova Scotia - effectively turning off the tap for waste generated in other Atlantic provinces.

We continue to promote renewable energy in all Atlantic provinces and to promote public transit - especially in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Our actions to protect the Gulf of St. Lawrence from oil and gas development have helped ensure that drilling has not happened as planned, and we are working to secure a moratorium for this unique Canadian ecosystem. We have the Gulf Garland, a place where people can share stories, videos, and pictures about why the Gulf is so special, and a Name the Whale challenge to raise awareness of the blue whales in the Gulf.

The vision for this region is:

An Atlantic Canada with dynamic communities, thriving ecosystems, and a prosperous economy entirely powered by  renewable energy.

We need your help in taking steps toward achieving this positive vision.
